Rob Jones: A Win is Expected; a Loss Would be Devastating

By Rob Jones:

Last week’s game against North Carolina was enough to give even the casual Card fan a mild heart attack. What looked to be another coast-to-coast landslide victory turned into the Tar Heels having the ball with a shot at an improbable win. Both fans walking out of PJCS and players into the Schnellenberger Complex had the feeling of defeat even though the final scoreboard read Louisville 39, North Carolina 34.

Rob Jones: Notre Dame, Big 12, and more…

By Rob Jones:

Conference realignment has reared it’s ugly head again this summer. This time it’s Notre Dame jumping to the ACC, joining the mass exodus of teams leaving the Big East for supposed greener ($$) pastures in other leagues. Most major college fans are safe in the conference carousal – their teams are already well established in traditional leagues. However, that is not the case for a supporter of the Louisville Cardinals.

BIG weekend set for the Cards (Sept 28th)

The weekend of September 28th-30th we will all be preparing for the Cards big football game down at Southern Miss. But just because Strong and company are out of town doesn’t mean there wont be some BIG things going on on campus. Coach Pitino will host 2 of the top Centers in the land that weekend. Rob Jones- From The Sidelines

Charlie Strong and his football team did what everyone expected in their 32-14 trouncing of rival Kentucky. Teddy Bridgewater was as advertised – picking the defense apart like a surgeon in only 2 1/2 quarters of play. The defense held the opposition to less than 20 points yet again and Louisville fans left the stadium Sunday all smiles with back-to-back victories over the hated Cats. It’s always a great feeling to have bragging rights for another year.

Missouri St. Football Visitor List

Last week Strong hosted over 50 visitors for the opening game against UK. This week that list is much smaller but the quality of the list is ever bit as good. Strong will have close to 20 guys in for the Missouri St. game including some Big time 2014 guys that will be on everyone’s radar in the coming year.
