Louisville athletics are back in action this weekend with many teams in the “heart” of their Big East schedule. Although most teams are on the road this weekend there are still several programs in action locally . The cross country team (mens and womens) are set to host the Greater Louisville Classic this Saturday, Sept.29th, at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park. The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. The Louisville baseball team is scheduled to continue its weekend scrimmages this Friday and Saturday. The Friday scrimmage will begin at 2:45 p.m. and the Saturday scrimmage at 2 p.m. Both scrimmages will be held at Jim Patterson Stadium and are free to attend. Read the rest of this entry
Fans have the opportunity to purchase tickets for the remaining 4 home games for UofL footbal at a very low price of just $40 per ticket. These tickets are in sections 2-5 on the UPS Flight Deck. Tickets may be purchased by calling the UofL ticket office (502) 852-5151 or (502) 852-7254 or by visiting either of the two U of L ticket offices: Gate 2 of Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium adjacent to Floyd Street or on the third floor of the Swain Student Activities Center.

The Louisville Cardinals men and women’s soccer teams, volleyball team, and field hockey team were all in action this yesterday both in away and home games. The men’s soccer team, in a game that was televised live on WHAS-11, took on arch-rival Kentucky at Cardinal Park. After a 90 minute, well fought game, the Cards fell to the Cats 1-0. In the first half the Cards took three shots, each missed. The Cards come out in the second half strong, but couldn’t land a goal to tie the game. Despite the loss and the cool weather, Fans were cheering loud for the Cards at tonight’s Red Out game.The Cards take on Ohio State next on Sept. 18th, 7pm, at Cardinal Park.

2012 Red White Scrimmage
Folks make sure to get online at ticketmaster.com and grab your tickets to the annual Red-White scrimmage games. This year they will take place on Oct 13, Oct 21 and Oct 27. All 3 will be great to attend and show support for our reigning and defending Big East Champion Louisville Cardinals. The showcase scrimmage will be the one on Oct 13 which will be our version of “Midnight Madness” and our top recruits and targets will be in attendance. It will be important to show them why CardNation is the best. Tickets go on sale today so grab yours now!

The weekend of September 28th-30th we will all be preparing for the Cards big football game down at Southern Miss. But just because Strong and company are out of town doesn’t mean there wont be some BIG things going on on campus. Coach Pitino will host 2 of the top Centers in the land that weekend. So who are they?

Last week Strong hosted over 50 visitors for the opening game against UK. This week that list is much smaller but the quality of the list is ever bit as good. Strong will have close to 20 guys in for the Missouri St. game including some Big time 2014 guys that will be on everyone’s radar in the coming year.
