*Charlie Strong picked up 2 committments today for the class of 2013. Richard Benjamin, a WR/DB that will likely play cornerback for the Cards, has offers from nearly every major program in the country. Read our earlier post here. Benjamin actually committed to the Cards a few days ago, but since he was making his official visit this weekend, the coaches wanted to wait until then for it to become official, and now it is.

*JUCO QB Brett Nelson also committed, and he will give the Cards a backup with experience next season behind Teddy Bridgewater.

*The Cards seem to be dominating the Gators when it comes to Sugar Bowl ticket sales. UofL has sold more than 14,000 of the allotted 17,500 while the Gators have sold just 6,500 so far. Will New Orleans be a sea of Red and Black???

*Speaking of the Sugar Bowl, check out the awesome poster.

*Trinity star James Quick took his official visit to UofL this weekend, and it sounds like it went well. He still plans to announce his college choice on January 5th at the Army All-American game. His top choices are UofL, Ohio State, Oregon, and Kentucky.

*During the players’ autograph signing this past week, Teddy Bridgewater stepped it up a level when he wore the Card Chronicle Bird Mask.

*Angel Nunez has said that he will transfer during the semester break. Nunez suffered from a concussion before the season started, and has been behind Wayne Blackshear and Luke Hancock on the depth chart and likely was not going to pass them anytime soon. Nunez is from New York, so it wouldn’t surprise us if he ends up at Manhattan, where former UofL assistant coach Steve Masiello is the head coach.

*UofL signee Anton Gill had 56 points in his game today for Hargrave Military! That is according to his teammate and future UofL teammate Terry Rozier’s twitter.

*The Cards will face Florida International this Wednesday at 7:00 at home. The Panthers are coached by Richard Pitino.

*We are trying to get to 3,000 twitter followers by the time the Sugar Bowl gets here. We have a lot of work to do, but it will be much easier with your help. Be sure to follow @CardSportsZone and shout us out. Go Cards!
