Louisville vs. Kentucky: the 1983 Dream Game

Louisville Kentucky 2

By Justin Renck:

In what could be the biggest game all-time in the history of the UofL-UK rivalry, 1983 gave us the original “Dream Game.” For years, Kentucky would not play against Louisville. Actually, the last time they had played was 1959! This started with Adolph Rupp and made its way to Joe B. Hall. They considered themselves too good for us!

But in 1983, even they could not hide anymore. The NCAA Tournament bracket put us together in the Regional Final in Knoxville, TN for a shot at the Final 4. Kentucky scored at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime, and from there, it was all Cards!
