Scott County’s Trent Gilbert will walk on at Louisville

Rick Pitino picked up a commitment from an in-state player that will be a walk-on. Trent Gilbert, who attends Scott County High School in Georgetown, Kentucky, has decided to join the Cards over scholarship offers from Marshall, Winthrop, and Tennessee Tech. Gilbert is 6’1 and averaged 26.1 points per game this season. He was also a finalist for Mr. Basketball in Kentucky.

Scott County fell to Covington Catholic 59-51 this season in the State Championship. Gilbert was named to the All-Tournament team. Against Trinity in the semi-finals, he scored 36 points.
