Bobby Petrino got some good news today when OLB Jonathan Greenard picked the Cards over UK.
The Cats had been the heavy favorite for Greenard but after visiting both campuses this weekend the 6’4 220 lb OLB felt the Cards were the better fit. Greenards size and athleticism will fit very nicely in Grantham’s 3-4 defense so expect to hear this name called many times in the future. Follow Jonathan Greenard on twitter @_ayejon_
This video was taken by the good folks over at thecrunchzone.com. It is Louisville Baseball coach Dan McDonnell speaking to the media after the Cards clinched their second straight trip to the College World Series. He gets very emotional. You have to love how real it is. I
My favorite part is easily when he says “It’s uncomfortable when people say I take these kids to Omaha. Because I don’t. They take me.”
As you can see, the fans were chomping at the bit to get in the stadium for the possible series clinching game 2 from Jim Patterson Saturday night versus the Kennesaw State Owls. We set the record last night with 5,351 people in attendance in what was one of the more raucous games I have ever been to. What more could we do? How bout putting another 656 people in the house! The CardNation broke the long-standing attendance record, ha, and were even rowdier tonight with a total of 6,007! I wanted to put together a post with some pictures and include the last minutes of the game plus the dog-pile celebration as the Cards win the game 7-4 and win the Louisville Super Regional and advance to the College World Series. I hope you enjoy!
According to this article by Jeff Greer of the Courier-Journal, James Quick and Jason Hatcher were cited for possession of marijuana by UofL police on May 26 in Quick’s apartment. Quick is a sophomore wide receiver for the Cards and Hatcher is a sophomore defensive lineman for Kentucky. They were teammates at Trinity High School here in Louisville.
The following is from the article:
The officer who wrote the citation noted he found 39.5 grams of marijuana in Quick’s possession, plus a digital scale and a marijuana grinder, which prompted Quick’s citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.
