As always around this time of year, it is a very busy weekend in UofL athletics. The highlight of the weekend will be Saturday evening when the Louisville football team takes on the Murray State Racers. That game is at 7:00 pm ET at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. Here in the Cardinal Catch Up, we focus on the “other” sports not named football or men’s basketball. It is a great one-stop shop to keep you informed on how the other teams at UofL are doing, and what they have coming up.
*The #24 ranked volleyball team (1-1) has a very busy weekend as they are hosting the Active Ankle Challenge in Cardinal Arena. They will host Tennessee State at 10:00 a.m. ET on Friday morning, and also face Cincinnati at 7:30 pm ET Friday evening. On Saturday, they will face Appalachian State at 11:00 a.m. ET, also in Cardinal Arena.
*The women’s soccer team (2-1-0) will host two matches this weekend at Lynn Stadium. They play Kentucky on Friday night at 6:00 pm ET, and all fans are encouraged to wear red. On Sunday, the Cards will host Miami (OH) at 1:00 pm ET.
*The #2 ranked men’s soccer team (1-0-0) will host Cornell on Friday evening after the women’s match against Kentucky. It is scheduled to start at 8:30 pm ET.
*The #15 ranked field hockey team (2-0) hits the road for a pair of games this weekend. They will play Dartmouth on Saturday at 12:00 pm ET. Then on Sunday they face #14 ranked Northwestern at 1:00 pm ET.
*The women’s golf team will compete in the Cardinal Kickoff in Laconia, Indiana on Sunday.
