The Louisville Cardinals continued their amazing season today when they swept Cincinnati for the 2nd time in a week. They improved their record to 27-3, 15-1 in the Big East! In the match, junior Caitlin Welch set the single season digs record at UofL! She already has the all-time record at UofL, which she set in the last match with Cincinnati! And senior Gwen Rucker had a big match with 15 kills!
On Sunday, the Cards will attempt to win the Big East Tournament Championship when they take on host school Marquette at 2 pm ET. The game will be shown on ESPNU. This will be the Cards’ 7th appearance in the Big East Championship in only 8 seasons in the Big East.
The Cards have now won 11 matches in a row, and this was their 7th straight sweep! On November 9, the Cards swept Marquette at Cardinal Arena. Let’s hope for a similar result here! Go Cards!

It has been a tremendous year for the UofL Volleyball team to this point. They won the Big East regular season title, and are now attempting to win the Big East Tournament and hopefully make a big NCAA Tournament run. You don’t have that kind of success without great players and a great coach, and those things were recognized at the Big East Banquet in Milwaukee, Wisconsin prior to the tournament starting.
