Here are the final stats from Friday night’s Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic.
Jaquan Lyle has decommitted from the University of Louisville. Earlier story below.
Cliff Alexander, ranked as high as the number 1 PF by ESPN, says he will officially visit UofL, Memphis, Arizona, and Kansas according to Steve Jones of the Courier Journal. Even though Uk is not listed here look for them to also play a big role in Alexander’s recruitment and while not officially Alexander has been on Uk campus. It should also be noted current Louisville Commit JaQuan Lyle will play with Alexander’s Mac Irvin fire this AAU summer so that can’t hurt the Cards chances. This would be a great fit for Pitino as Alexander is agile enough to play the stretch for but big enough to run at the 5. Alexander’s recruitment will for sure be something to watch in the coming months for CardNation. You can follow Cliff Alexander on twitter @humblekid11
2014 PF Trey Lyles is by all accounts atop the Rick Pitino’s wish list and for good reason. Lyles is one of the more well rounded PF to come out in awhile and would fit perfectly in the Louisville system. Here are some highlights of Trey Lyles from this recent spring AAU circut. Oh and while your watching you may notice something about current UofL commit Jaquan Lyle (5), DUDE CAN PASS! ACC here we come :)
It is obvious that the class of 2014 is shaping up to be one of the best in Rick Pitino’s years at UofL. Here is just a quick look at the current commits so far. This won’t be the full class, but these 3 are worth taking a look at!

Even though it almost feels like he has been apart of the Cardinal family for a while now, 5* SG Jaquan Lyle officially announced he will be a Louisville Cardinal. Lyle is one of the Elite guards in the nation rated as high as the #2 SG and held offers from pretty much anyone you can think of but ultimately choose the Cards over IU, Florida and Tennessee. Lyle sent this text to Coach Pitino today to let him know the good news:
5* point guard/shooting guard JaQuan Lyle from Benjamin Bosse High School in Evansville, IN narrowed his final 7 schools down to a final 4. Lyle is listed at 6’4 and 180 lbs. Scout lists him as the 3rd best player at his position in the class of 2014. Rivals lists him as the 17th best player at his position in the class. Either way? Pretty good! So who are his Final 4??? In no order…

Charlie Strong and the football team won’t be the only ones with some important visitors on campus this weekend. When the #1 Cards take on #6 Syracuse there will be some future Cards and a couple guys very high on Pitino’s wish list. Who are they:
