Cards to open next season in Puerto Rico

Yesterday Minnesota coach Richard Pitino blogged that they are trying to get a game with Louisville next year to open the season. The game would be held in a Military hanger in Puerto Rico on November 14th and the coach said they were 99% sure the game would happen. Last night his Father and Louisville basketball Head Coach Rick Pitino confirmed his sons blog post on his weekly radio show. Pitino told Paul Rogers that the game is all but going to happen some things with ESPN just need to be Ironed out.

Rick Pitino also confirmed that barring unforeseen circumstances the Cards will also be a part of the Jimmy V classic in Madison Square Garden against Indiana in early December. With these two games in the mix, the Big 10/ACC Challenge, and the annual Kentucky game next year is shaping up to be one of the Cardinals best out of Conference schedules to date.

Men’s Basketball: Cards likely to face Hoosiers at MSG!

According to this article from the IndyStar, the Louisville Cardinals will finally face the Indiana Hoosiers again in basketball in the 2014-15 season! It will be apart of the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden on December 9, 2014! They have not played each other since the 2002-2003 season.

The article does note that there is a contract for this game, but until ESPN finalizes the game, it is premature to call it official. This is still way more progress than we have seen before, so it should be very exciting if it happens!
