Louisville football target Kalin Heath updated CSZ on his recruitment Saturday night. Heath is from Cartersville, Georgia and is listed on the major recruiting sites as a 3-star prospect. About two weeks ago, it was almost a sure thing that Heath was going to commit to the Cards. After speaking with Coach Petrino, he decided that he wanted to take his time and wait until June to commit anywhere. At the time, he said Louisville was still the leader, but it was just too soon for him to commit and make that decision. So where does he stand now in his recruitment?
Heath has a list of seven schools: Louisville, Cincinnati, Mississippi State, Kansas State, Iowa State, Indiana, and UNC Charlotte. Is there a leader? “Right now everyone is even until I visit all the schools,” Heath said. “I’d like to see how well I fit into all these schools.”
There had been talk about running back Kalin Heath committing to the Cards on Wednesday. It seemed to be a done deal. So much so that I already had the post ready to publish, just waiting on the official word. Well that won’t happen now, at least not yet.
“I’ve spoken to Coach Petrino today and the conversation went well,” Heath told CSZ on Tuesday night. “But I also told him that committing tomorrow was too early. I told him I was going to hold off on the commitment till at least June.”
So where do the Cards stand with Heath now? “They understood and everything is ok. I also told them that they are still #1 and I’m more than likely going to commit, but tomorrow is too soon.”
I have to say that I would much rather see a kid take his time and make the best decision for him, rather than commit too soon and then decommit later.
