Paige Sherrard: My first blog!

52 Days. 30 Minutes.

As the newest member of the Cardinal Sports Zone’s “Dream Team,” I thought I’d introduce myself in my first blog. I’m a 22-year-old, diehard U of L fan and Senior at the best University, of course, the University of Louisville. Attending games of all sports is one of my favorite things to do. Any chance I get to cheer on my Cards, I’m there… Or at least Tweeting about it. My greatest childhood memories consist of attending U of L games with my parents. One of my favorite Louisville memories is the Louisville vs. Miami game in 2006. Miami came in Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium and STOMPED on our beloved Cardinal Bird. Bad idea. The tension and passion I witnessed during that game… Incredible. Stomping the Bird gave the Cards the drive and motivation to blow out Miami. They may have taken out Brohm, but the Cards came out victorious, winning 31-7. Beating the Canes for the first time.  The best part of that game was storming the field and kissing the Cardinal Bird Logo.

The passion of a Louisville fan is unmatched. Card Nation absolutely has the best fans. The atmosphere at games is probably the main reason I am ready for Cardinal Football to kick off! Season Opener, Battle for the Governor’s Cup. Each year the U of L vs. UK game proves to be a great game. This year, UK players are determined to beat Louisville. However, with Teddy, D. Brown, Mario, COACH STRONG (and, of course, the rest of the staff and team), the Governor’s Cup is staying in The Ville.

Coming off last season’s 7-6 record, shared Big East Championship and heartbreaking (I cried…), but motivating loss to N.C. State in the Belk Bowl, it’s safe to say the Cards are ready to dominate this year. I see big things in Cardinal Football’s future.

This season is going to be incredible. I couldn’t think of a better time to join the CSZ Fam!!

R U READY??

GO CARDS!!
