Jason Hatcher’s recruitment now “wide open”

Jason Hatcher

By Justin Renck:

Trinity High School star defensive end Jason Hatcher, who committed to USC on July 27, made big news on twitter last night. We at CSZ have been expecting it to happen for quite a while, but last night he made it official and he de-committed from USC. His tweet said “I official de-committed from USC #WideOpen”.

Many now expect for Hatcher to decide between Louisville and Kentucky. He visited UK on the weekend of January 11. He will visit UofL on the weekend of February 1, right before National Signing Day, which is February 6.

Hatcher is 6’3 and 240 lbs. Here are his ratings on Scout, Rivals, and ESPN:

Scout 4*   #10 DE

Rivals 4*   #7 DE

ESPN 4*    #14 DE    187th in ESPN 300

Although he was committed to USC and now it appears he will choose either UofL or UK, Hatcher has picked up some impressive offers. Here are some of them: Alabama, USC, Notre Dame, Florida, Auburn, Arkansas, Tennessee, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Penn State, Texas A&M, Michigan, Mississippi, NC State, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Illinois, Northwestern.

At this point, it would not surprise me if Hatcher makes his decision on signing day, as some kids like to do with the spotlight, but we will see. If he chooses to join his teammate James Quick at UofL, it would be a huge pickup for Charlie Strong and the Cards.

It doesn’t look like his senior highlights are out yet, but here are his junior year highlights!
