Halloween for Hunger at Cardinal Park

The Louisville men’s soccer program is teaming with fans to help in the fight against hunger with the Halloween for Hunger campaign, a partnership of University of Louisville student-athletes along with the MetoWe organization. MetoWe is an organization that strives to change lives not by dollars earned, but by the number of lives changed, along with a positive social and environmental impact. In America, approximately 1 in 5 children live in households that struggle to put food on the table with the state of Kentucky ranking fifth in the nation in poverty at 12.7 percent.

Throughout the month of October, U of L athletes have been collecting canned food items at men’s soccer home matches and for every can donated, fans receive a voucher for a free ticket to the Cardinals’ home game against Saint Louis. Cans can be exchanged on Thursday night as well at the marketing table located on the north end of Cardinal Park with all items being donated to The Lord’s Kitchen.

Thursday’s match will also feature a night of Halloween fun for kids. Dress up in your favorite costume for a halftime Halloween parade, pregame trick-or-treating around Cardinal Park, face painting, poster making & other Halloween fun hosted by University of Louisville student-athletes. The fun begins at 6 p.m., when the gates open at Cardinal Park.
