With the recent decommits of Poona Ford and Chris Nelson, both defensive tackles, Louisville fans are needing to see a defensive tackle on the radar for Bobby Petrino and his staff for this class. Well this weekend they will get a big-time visitor when four-star defensive tackle Daniel Cage visits the Cards.
Cage is from Cincinnati, OH and is listed at 6’3 and 290 lbs. Scout ranks him as the 7th best defensive tackle in the country. He has already visited Illinois, and now has visits to Louisville (Jan.17), Michigan State (Jan. 24), and Missouri (Jan. 31). He also recently got an offer from Notre Dame, so we will see if he visits the Irish as well.
Along with those schools, Cage also has offers from: Florida, Arkansas, Nebraska, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, Vanderbilt, and more.
This would be a big one if the Cards can land Cage, and also if he fits in with what the staff are looking for. For the sake of filling needs in the class, I hope we want him, and I hope he wants to be here.
