When the UAB football program disbanded late last year, Cards fans wondered if the Louisville and former UAB coach Garrick McGee (Current Louisville OC) would make a move. Today CardNation got their answer when former UAB WR Jamari Staples, who is eligible immediately, chose to play for the Cards over Auburn.

The 6’4 190 lbs receiver was an All-State player in the state of Alabama coming out of high school. As a freshman at UAB, Staples caught 31 passes for 459 yards and 4 touchdowns. His sophomore campaign was hampered by an injury but Staples still managed to average nearly 21 yards a catch. Staples was recruited to UAB by Coach Garrick McGee and should have no problem jumping right into the Louisville offensive system and contributing. Follow Jamari Staples on twitter @2_GotDaJuice
