55 (Season 2 Episode 19)

55

This week on 55…..

We talk the dismissal of Chris Jones. We also cover other Louisville men who aren’t sure they want to be Louisville men anymore. Rankings, rankings and rankings. ACC MVP? Also big news in the land of CSZ to talk about and I can’t wait to share it. We also have some combine results and assessments. On ESPN/ESPN2 tonight CardNation takes over and we say good bye to a friend of the site, Elle Raiser. So here we go.

Without further adieu, here are the most ridiculous, outlandish, interesting or just downright obnoxious things I have heard this week. THIS is 55…..

-The Cards fell all the way to #17 this week after losing to Syracuse and losing a valuable piece to the puzzle. The @UofLWBB team remained at #8 this week. The Women’s Cards battle #4 ND tonight on ESPN2 at 7 and the Men’s team travels to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech at 7 on ESPN.

– Coach Rick Pitino’s team went 1-1 this week by defeating Miami 55-53. Montrezl Harrell was the hero of this one scoring 21 points and pulling down 14 rebounds. He actually won this game for us at the free throw line, not a typo. I am certain they finished with 55 points in my honor. Please don’t honor me again. They play FSU on Saturday.

-Saturday was the final game in a Cardinal uniform for Senior Guard Chris Jones. He was suspended last Tuesday and had to sit out the Syracuse game. Was reinstated a few days later. Helped lead us to a win vs Miami on Saturday then booted Sunday. A multitude of rumors circulating but regardless of what the truth is I hope for my buddy to get help and get well. I appreciate everything you did for us on the court. He has stated he will go see coach John Lucas who runs anger management programs for athletes. You may remember John Lucas for being the one that helped Chane Behanan last year after HIS dismissal.

-With all of the negative nancies out there, (Apologies to anyone named Nancy) Justin Renck tells us why we should look at this development as a new beginning. Read here.

-Will Stein has accepted a GA position with Charlie Strong at UT-Austin….we wish Will the best of luck.

-The Cards had 11 players attend the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this past few days. Click on the names listed for assessments and results. Michael Dyer, Devante Parker, Dom Brown, John Miller, Jamon Brown, Gerald Christian. We will have more on the others later.

-It was reported today that Juwon Pass removed UL from consideration last night. Pass was a 2016 QB target for the Cards. He did state today that UL is a top target. Speculation is that the 43 QB’s at UL already may have played a part in it.

-I would like to say goodbye to a personal friend of mine, Mike AKA “ElleRaiser”. He is heading back to Florida to start at a job he got from finishing his education at the University of Louisville. I know some of you did not like him and others did not have a problem with him. However he helped out CSZ from day one and never showed me any of the selfishness or nastiness or any of the other negative traits you guys have voiced on social media. So for that I thank you buddy and wish you the very best. First Chris and now Elle. I can only go by my experiences with him and he was cool to me. Good luck.
