The women’s basketball selection show took place on Monday night, and the Louisville Cardinals (25-6) learned they will be a 3 seed in the Albany, New York region. Their first game is Saturday at 4 pm ET in Tampa, Florida against the 14-seed BYU Cougars. The game will be shown on ESPN2. BYU is 23-9 this season and they won the WCC Tournament.
The 3 seed is great and all, even though they are ranked 8th in the country and everyone else ahead of them were a 1 or a 2. That doesn’t matter much since the 2 and 3 should play each other anyway. Speaking of that, the 2 seed is Kentucky. Should the Cards advance past them, they would likely have a date in Albany, New York with…you guessed it, UConn.
Even in a different conference, the Cards can’t seem to escape UConn in the NCAA Tournament. The time is coming where Jeff Walz will beat Geno Auriemma. Will it be this year? Not sure, but that time will come.
Good luck to the Cards!
