55 (Season 3 Episode 1) The Final Season?

We talk the beginning of Cardinal Athletics! We talk Black-out jerseys and Stadium expansion too. We talk about the end of one thing but the continuation of another. We talk about ATLANTA GEORGIA! What will the CSZ crew be doing in Atlanta. I will tell you here.

Without further adieu, here are the most ridiculous, outlandish, interesting or just downright obnoxious things I have heard this week. THIS is 55…..

-Yes that is a new logo and it is smooth! Thanks to Tim Haag for the creation! Follow him at @UofLBirdsNest

-As you guys know the thing that really has become one of my staples at CardinalSportsZone.com is the series 55. It did so well with my following that I even created a spin-off: LiveWith55. The point behind regular 55 was to give you guys all of your UofL info in one spot. I believe it fulfilled that goal. LiveWith55 is a hit and much easier to do in today’s world of microwave entertainment. How often will I post a 55 this year? I have a plan to send it off right, Don’t worry. I appreciate all of your support and can’t wait to get the season started. Let me know your ideas on what I should do. As always I will be listening!

-Speaking of my spin-off, LiveWith55 had a busy week this week. On our normal time and day of Wednesday at 7:30 I brought to you LW55 NO LIMIT! It was supposed to be a show where we went as long as we wanted and there was no limit. Perrin Johnson joined us and then broke the internet! The show tapped oput about 35 minutes in. What was I gonna do? Well since I own the show and network I decided to do what only I could do…..Finish the show Friday! On Friday I brought you LiveWith55: No LIMIT Part 2 so I could get my guests @The_Red_Rage @John_Fogle and @raashaan on as I promised on Wednesday. We had a blast and they were both very good shows. I also had my Nephew Jalen on as he talked about having to retire from college football and starting a career in broadcasting. He did great. That brings us to last night…..I am home alone, bored and didn’t want to get into any trouble. What to do? I knew I had cancelled this weeks live with 55 due to traveling so what could I do? BONUS 55! So me and my buddy Chris brought you a 3rd hour of LiveWith55 for the week called…..Saturday Night LIVE!…with 55. Genius I know. We had @TwaneeBaby on to talk about tickets for the Jawon Pass game Friday night and @BoydLavell to talk about his sons retirement and his company prestigious 300. He will be on 680/93.9 Thursday as a part of MayDays Throwback Thursday segment…Tune in.

-The Black-out jerseys were released Thursday and they did not disappoint, click here for pics!

-The dates but not times have been released for this years Red-White scrimmages have been announced. Tickets go on sale here and you can get more info here.

On Friday Tom Jurich announced plans for a 55 million dollar upgrade to Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium. It was magnificent! To go look at a gallery of pics, click here!

Men’s Soccer (1-0)

-Men’s Soccer defeated William & Mary 2-1

Women’s Soccer (1-1-1)

-The Cards played to a scoreless tie at Kent State Friday.

Field Hockey (1-0)

-Defeated App St 8-1 and are playing IU at the moment!

Women’s Volleyball (2-1)

-The Cards lost to #12 Illinois on Friday night 3-0. They bounced back Saturday to defeat Creighton 3-2 & Miami (OH) 3-1

Up Next: #31 Minnesota on 9/4 at the yUM 7 & #5 Wisconsin 9/5 at the YUM on Saturday at 7 as a part of the ACC/Big Ten challenge. Quite unfortunate timing as most of Louisville will be South for some game…

Oh Yeah that’s it! The Cards take on the mighty S.E.C representatives the Auburn Tigers on Saturday at 3:30. The Tigers are top 10 depending on where you look at and just like most of you I am ready to see what our team can do. -It was announced this week that a UL/IU series in Basketball & Football had been worked out. In Basketball: ’16 @ Bankers Life (neutral), ’17 @ YUM and ’18 @ Assembly Hall. In Football: ’23 @ Lucas Oil Stadium (neutral), ’24 @ PJCS and /25 @ Memorial Stadium. Great to have a respectful rival back in the fold.
