Louisville Announces 2016 Radio Schedule

Today we received a press release stating that the radio schedule had been released for this years University of Louisville Baseball team. I was fired up to find out that ESPN 93.9 FM The Ville was back as Flagship Station for @UofLBaseball. The Cards play 17 out of their first 18 at home starting Friday at 3 as they host SIU-Edwardsville. Here is the release:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The 2016 University of Louisville baseball radio schedule was released on Wednesday with 93.9 The Ville returning as the flagship station of the Cardinals for the second straight season.

Forty-seven regular season broadcasts as well as all of Louisville’s ACC Championship and NCAA Championship games in 2016 are slated for 93.9 The Ville. An additional eight games this season will be aired live on 1450 WXVW increasing the overall total to 55 regular season games slated for radio coverage in 2016, the most in school history.

Following its record-setting debut season in the ACC and a third straight NCAA Super Regional appearance, the Louisville baseball team enters the 2016 season ranked No. 2 in the nation in every major preseason national poll. With Sean Moth back calling the action again this season, the radio schedule includes home games against reigning NCAA champion Virginia, Notre Dame, Clemson and NC State as well as road visits to Miami, Florida State, North Carolina and Ole Miss.

ESPN Louisville, the group behind local stations ESPN 680 and 105.7 FM, launched 93.9 The Ville, powered by ESPN, on Jan. 29, 2015. The station provides coverage of the Cardinals through an official partnership with Louisville Sports Properties, which represents U of L athletics.

The No. 2-ranked Louisville baseball team will open the 2016 season on 1450 WXVW on Friday at 3 p.m., ET at Jim Patterson Stadium in the first game of a weekend series at home against SIU Edwardsville. The Cardinals and Cougars will continue their series on Saturday at 2 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m., with each of those games set for 93.9 The Ville. Admission is free throughout the weekend at Patterson Stadium.
