For a hint of the upside, look at Jackson’s last two games. In wins against Kentucky and Texas A&M, Jackson passed for 357 yards, rushed for 412 yards and totaled seven TDs. Put that over a full season, and you have something in the neighborhood of Johnny Manziel’s Heisman Trophy year. Jackson must develop more accuracy, and another spring and fall camp with Bobby Petrino won’t hurt.

That was the caption under Lamar Jackson’s ranking in the Sporting News top 25 QB’s for 2016. Yes LJ was in there. No he wasn’t top 10. Yes I feel he should’ve been higher. The improvement over the summer will surely leap this kid into the top 5 status by the end of the season in my opinion. He is in my top 5 for favorite QB’s in recent Louisville history. 1) Chris Redman (That’s my Quarterback) 2) Teddy Bridgewater 3) Dave Ragone 4) Lamar Jackson 5) Hunter Cantwell/ Stefan LeFors.

He proved a ton last year when people did not even have him playing a down in their forecasts for the season. Once he was given a consistent opportunity he shined though down the stretch.
