Softball Starts Season With 2 Impressive Wins

The ladies kicked off the season in Las Vegas playing in the UNLV Sportco Kick Off Classic. Louisville won their first 2 games on day one beating Southern Utah 17-3 and beating CSU Bakersfield 13-2.

After 3 more games this weekend, The Cards play in the ACC/Big 10 challenge vs Purdue and Ohio State next weekend. The following weekend they travel to Cathedral City, CA for the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.

After playing their first 14 games on the road, the ladies first home game at Ulmer Stadium in the Red & Black Tournament is on March 3rd at 3:00 versus Indiana State followed by a 5:30 game versus Wisconsin-Green Bay. Admission is free.

Maryssa Becker now has 24 career home runs and moves into a tie for 10th on Louisville’s all-time list.
• Becker has 134 career RBIs and moves into eighth on Louisville’s career list.
• Becker’s eight RBIs surpassed the previous record (7) held by Katie Keller (twice in 2013) and Melissa Jacobo (2002).
