Brendan McKay Named Baseball America’s College Player Of The Year


Two-way super star Brendan McKay continues to rack up the accolades after having a brilliant season. This morning Baseball America, one of the nation’s most trusted and respected baseball publications on all levels, named the UofL pitcher/first baseman their College Player of the Year.

Through all 60 of Louisville’s regular season and postseason games, McKay has registered a triple slash of .356/.476/.688 while driving 17 home runs and 56 RBIs, both of which are teams highs. Also having a stellar season on the mound, McKay registered a 2.31 ERA over 97.1 innings pitched, while posting a 9-3 mark in 15 starts. He also posted a team high 131 strikeouts while only allowing 33 walks.
