Women’s Hoops Releases 2017-18 Non-Conference Schedule

IMG_1585Louisville, KY — The Louisville women’s basketball team will face six teams during its non-conference slate that won 20 or more games last season.

“Once again, we have a tough non-conference schedule, but that’s what it is all about,” said head coach Jeff Walz. “We want to play the best because it helps us get better throughout the year and prepares us for conference play.”

Louisville kicks off the season on November 10th at the KFC Yum! Center as the Cardinals face Southeast Missouri in the opening round of the WNIT.

The first road game will be Louisville’s first test of the season. The Cardinals take on the Buckeyes of Ohio State in the Countdown to Columbus Tournament on November 12th. Ohio State went 28-7 last season, bowing out of the NCAA Tournament in the Sweet Sixteen.

Other notable teams the Cardinals will face include Murray State, Indiana, South Dakota State, Vanderbilt, MTSU and Air Force.

As usual, Louisville will also face in State rival, Kentucky, in Lexington on December 17th.

The Cardinals will take on Air Force on December 20th before entering league play.

However, Louisville takes a break from the ACC slate and heads to Storrs, Connecticut to battle 11 time National Champion UConn Huskies on February 12th.
