Igniting an old rivalry is always interesting. Today at noon on ESPN2, Louisville and Memphis (state) face-off in New York. Louisville is currently favored by 12.5 points.
To add to the interesting nature of today’s game, Memphis is coached by Tubby Smith. Tubby’s team this year is essentially brand new. Memphis lost multiple players not just to graduation, but to transfers as well. Many believe this could be a make or break year for Tubby’s future with Memphis.
It is a rivalry game, but most of the players on both teams probably don’t even understand why. Rivalry games can be sloppy and low-scoring, but I think Louisville is the superior team and it will show.
Prediction: Louisville 81-Memphis 69.
