Nickelberry is a 6’4 175 lbs SG with offers from UNC, NC State, Florida, Baylor, Florida State, Auburn, Xavier, Georgetown, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and many others. He is ranked as the 53rd best player in the 2019 class by 247sports.com.
Nickelberry is among the best shooters in the class who can also get to the rim and score. At this year’s Adidas Gauntlet he shot 56% from the field and 50% from the 3 point line in 2 games per prepcircuit.com.
He would definitely fit a need as UofL is lacking depth at the guard position. Nickelberry would give UofL and Coach Chris Mack a talented G that is an excellent shooter and scorer.
Right now, it appears UofL’s biggest competition for him are the in-state schools of UNC and NC State. If UofL could get him out of NC, it would be a huge recruiting coup for Coach Mack.
