The Louisville Cardinals take on the Marquette Golden Eagles tonight at 7pm in Brooklyn to close out the NIT Season Tip-Off for both teams. The game can be seen on ESPN2. Marquette currently sits as 3.5-point favorites.
Marquette lost their first game of the event to No. 2 Kansas 77-68. The Golden Eagles (3-2) are led by guard Markus Howard who leads the team in points (19.4 per game) and assists (5.6 per game). The Cardinals will have to better luck stopping the Eagles go-to guy than they had with Tennessee in order to win today.
Today, I’m looking for more defensive efficiency. The Cards have proven they can score, but the defense really needs to be cleaned up if they’re going to start winning games against good opponents. I think today is the day the defense takes a step forward.
