With the recruiting dead period over, UofL Football is hitting the ground running. The new staff has secured a visit from a big time player with offers from a who’s who of college football.

4 Star DE Quashon Fuller cancelled a visit to Florida Friday and will instead make a trip to Louisville to check out the facilities and staff. Make no mistake, this is huge news when an Army All-American cancels a visit to Florida to come visit UofL. He is a FSU commit, but he did not sign in the early period and is obviously looking at all options. He has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Miami, Georgia, and a host of other programs per 247sports.

Fuller is a 6’3 270 lbs monster that is excellent at exploding out of his stance at the snap, shedding blocks, and tackling ball carriers and/or QBs. He overpowers opposing offensive linemen and gets into the backfield consistently. Though he plays primarily DE, his size and strength could allow him to play some on the interior of the defensive line as well. It’s very easy to see why he is coveted by many major programs.

The fact Fuller cancelled a visit to a blue blood like Florida that has a proven and well-known DC in Todd Grantham to come and visit UofL speaks volumes about the coaching staff’s ability to recruit. Of course this visit doesn’t mean he will commit, but getting a guy as highly touted as he is to come to campus this late in the process is still something to celebrate. And who knows, he might just end up in a Cardinal uniform when all is said and done.
