Louisville at Wake Forest: Cards Battle Deacons On The Road

The Louisville Cardinals (15-5,6-1) travel to Winston Salem for a Wednesday night matchup with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (8-11,1-6).

Louisville enters the game on a 5 game winning streak. The Cards are currently tied for first in the ACC at 6-1, its best start in league play since joining the conference.  Wake Forest has lost all but one game in ACC play thus far. The lone victory came two weeks ago against NC State at home.

Jordan Nwora continues to lead the Cards in both points (18.2) and rebounds (7.9) per game. Christen Cunningham (10.5) joins him as Louisville’s only other double-digit scorer on the year. Wake Forest is led by Brandon Childress (16.1 ppg, 4.3 apg) and Jaylen Hoard (14.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg).

Louisville should not have any problems with this game tonight. Wake Forest is considered by almost every metric to be the worst team in the ACC. Louisville is on a 5-game winning streak and are looking better on both ends right now then they have all season. Wake Forest did manage to knock off a ranked NC State team at home, so Louisville will need to come out focused nonetheless. That being said, anything short of a big win from the Cards tonight will be considered a disappointment.

Louisville is currently favored by 9.5 points. The game tips at 8:00 ET and will be broadcast live on WAVE-3 in Louisville or on WatchESPN.

Prediction:

Louisville 83 Wake Forest 61
