Smith is a 5’11 160 lbs 4 Star PG that plays for Grayson High School in Loganville, GA. He has quite an extensive offer list besides having an offer from UofL. Among the myriad of schools that have offered Smith are NC State, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, and Oregon. He is ranked 50th nationally and 6th at his position per 247sports composite rankings.
Gifted with elite leaping ability and quickness, Deivon Smith is an athletic freak. His ball handling is impeccable and coupled with his quickness, allows him to get the rim at will. His leaping ability and his toughness make him an excellent finisher around the rim. His developing mid-range jumper and three-point shot make him an intriguing target for UofL. He reminds me a little of both Russ Smith and Peyton Siva. He has Peyton’s athletic ability while he possesses Russ’s finishing ability.
247sports recruiting analysts’ crystal ball predictions have trended toward the Cards picking up Smith as the first commit of the 2020 class. All of the crystal ball predictions have been entered within the last few days for the electric PG. So, there is a chance that Deivon Smith commits to the Cards on his visit. Obviously, it’s not a 100% chance, but Smith is definitely a recruit UofL fans should pay close attention to this weekend.
