Louisville Football Schedules Home And Home Series With Texas A&M

Louisville Football announced today that they have scheduled a home-and-home series with Texas A&M.

The first game will be played at the massive Kyle Field in College Station on September 2, 2028. On the same date in 2029, the Aggies will make the return trip to Cardinal Stadium.

Louisville and Texas A&M have battled on the gridiron 4 times previously. The Aggies have a 3-1 advantage in the series. The first 3 meetings took place in the early 90s and all were won by Texas A&M.

The first meeting at Kyle Field was in 1992. Texas A&M won 40-10. The next year also took place at Kyle Field with similar results; a 42-7 Aggie romp. The final meeting took place at the now demolished old Cardinal Stadium. The Cards kept it much closer than the previous two meetings, but still lost 26-10.

In 2015, Texas A&M met Louisville in the Music City Bowl. In this 4th all-time meeting, the Cards flew away with a victory in their grasp 27-21. It was the official introduction of freshman QB Lamar Jackson to the nation. Facing off against a Texas A&M defense led by 1st Round draft pick Myles Garrett at DE, Lamar ran and passed all over the Aggies. He finished the game having thrown for 227 yards and 2 TDs and having rushed for 226 yards and 2 TDs. That game was the launching pad for his 2016 Heisman season and to his current status as one of the hottest young talents in the NFL.

Louisville looks to even the overall series between the schools by winning this home-and-home series in 2028 and 2029.
