Toy Drive To Be Held Before Louisville Men’s Basketball Game Against EKU

CardsCARE is partnering with Cardinal Forever Kyle Kuric’s charity “Kyle’s Korner” for a toy drive this Saturday before Louisville takes on EKU.

All fans have to do is bring a new toy with them to the game. It can be for any age or gender. Those toys will be collected at the door as you enter.

Kuric started his “Kyle’s Korner” charity back in 2011 while still playing for the Cards. Of course, it was so named because of the term Kyle’s corner that applied to his favorite spot on the floor to shoot the 3. Kuric would help lead Louisville to a Final Four in 2012 as a senior before going overseas for a prosperous professional career.

If you wish to donate a toy, but can’t make the game and want to know more about the toy drive, read the UofL Athletics press release below.

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT:

Toy Collection at Cardinals’ Dec. 14 Men’s Basketball Game

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — New toys will be collected and subsequently donated to Norton’s Childrens Hospital and Home of the Innocents prior to the Cardinals’ Dec. 14 men’s basketball game against Eastern Kentucky. New toys for any age or gender will be collected at the entrances of the KFC Yum! Center.

The collection is associated with UofL Athletics’ CardsCARE program and Kyle’s Korner for Kids, the community outreach established in 2011 by former Cards’ forward Kyle Kuric while a UofL student. Kuric, who has been playing professional basketbal for eight seasons and is currently with FC Barcelona in Spain, helped the Cardinals reach the 2012 Final Four (later vacated) as a senior.

For those who wish to contribute a toy to the drive and cannot attend the Dec. 14 game, toys may be dropped at the UofL Athletics offices on the second floor of the Swain Student Activities Center located at 2100 South Floyd Street. Toys will be accepted weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Dec. 13.
