Cardinal Forever Asia Durr Announces Covid-19 Diagnosis And Opts Out Of WNBA Season

Some sad news to report as Louisville Women’s Basketball great Asia Durr made public today she has Covid-19. Durr advised she had tested positive back on June 8th.

As a sobering reminder that the virus can have troubling effects on both young and old, Asia said she was experiencing a rough go with the virus to date. Anyone that follows women’s basketball and former Cards knows Asia is a high level athlete in tip-top condition. The fact she is still struggling with lingering effects is a stark warning to us all.

Unfortunately, she has decided to opt out of the upcoming WNBA season because of her diagnosis. I think we all know Asia would like to be on the floor, competing with her teammates to win the WNBA Title. However, she made the absolute best decision for her health and well being, as well as the health and well being of her teammates.

We at CSZ hope Cardinal Forever Asia Durr recovers fully from her battle soon and look forward to watching her light up NYC next season. I think we can all be assured that we will see her lighting up the Barclays Center scoreboards again in the future.

Asia’s full statement can be read below.
