Photo Gallery: Louisville v. Vanderbilt

Louisville (24-14) scored six of its seven runs in the fourth and fifth innings, as the Cardinals took a 7-2 win over Vanderbilt (32-10) on Tuesday afternoon.

The Cardinals trailed 1-0 in the top of the fourth inning, but scored two in the bottom of the frame to take the lead for good. The fifth inning saw Louisville add on four more runs to extend their lead, coming on a two RBI single from Luke Brown, and a massive two-run homer by Alex Binelas.

Vanderbilt and Louisville both traded home runs in the eighth inning, coming from Spencer Jones and Henry Davis, respectively.

Luke Brown and Henry Davis were both 2-for-4 on the afternoon, accounting for four of Louisville’s five hits. The lone other hit came from Binelas, who hit the two-run homer that bookended a six run spurt by the Cardinals in the fourth and fifth innings.

Carter Lohman earned his second win of the 2021 season, allowing just two hits and one earned run in four innings. Evan Webster and Tate Kuehner had no runs allowed on 1.2 and 1.1 innings pitched from the bullpen, respectively. Adam Elliott earned his third save of the 2021 season by recording the final out of the game.
