Louisville edged out another close victory on Wednesday night in a 75-72 win over Pittsburgh at home. The Cards improve to 10-4 overall and 4-0 in the ACC. Pitt falls to 5-9 and 0-3.

El Ellis led Louisville with 18 points and 2 rebounds. Noah Locke added 13 points and 4 boards. Samuell Williamson and Matt Cross both had 9 points for the Cards. Louisville shot 48-percent from the field and 33.3-percent from three-point range.
For Pittsburgh, Jamarius Burton led all scorers with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Mouhamadu Gueye added 15 points. John Hugley scored 11 points and grabbed 7 boards. Ithiel Horton was also in double figures with 13 points.

Thoughts:
Louisville is in a weird spot right now. The Cards won their third straight game on Wednesday. They currently sit 4-0 in the ACC, and yet there are still numerous signs to be worried about this team. All four conference wins have come by five points or less. The ACC is in the midst of its worst season in recent memory. There is a massive shortage of good teams in the conference right now, and I am not sure you can confidently call UofL one of them.
It would be easy to call this game an outlier. There were multiple technical fouls in both the first minute of the game as well as the final minute. It was strange night at the KFC Yum! Center altogether. This has become a habit at this point, though. Louisville should be beating teams like Pitt by double digits, but they just have not shown an ability to do it through 14 games. You cannot discount the fact that they are winning right now. It is important to note, though, that they started out 4-0 last season in the ACC. They actually finished 8-4 overall, but still missed the NCAA Tournament. Louisville is not in a position where it can afford to take a bad loss right now, and they came awfully close to doing it again on Wednesday night.
