The Louisville football program has already capitalized on a key recruiting weekend over the past couple days, as 2024 prospect Fred Johnson committed to Jeff Brohm and the Cardinals. Johnson just completed his official visit to the Derby City, after visiting Kentucky last weekend. The three-star interior offensive lineman has seen his recruitment take off in the past couple months and has received seven Power Five offers since January 29th (Penn State, Michigan, Tennessee, Michigan State, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, and Louisville).

Johnson is currently ranked as a three-star according to 247Sports.com, but does not yet have a composite ranking. The 6-foot-5 lineman’s recruiting ranking will likely see a bump in the coming months. The Cardinals currently have 11 commitments in FlyVille24, while holding the nation’s 29th-best class. Johnson is the first commitment from Ohio (Cleveland) to join the class, and the third offensive linemen (OT Ransom McDermott & OT Jimmy Williams).
