UofL’s Women’s Basketball Recap: Gold Medal, First 2024 Commit, Etc.

For this edition of the UofL Women’s Basketball recap, we reflect on the Cards’ Gold Medal game in Canada to UofL’s first commitment in the 2024 class.

July 16th 2023:

The Cards defeated Canada 68-66 in the Global Jam Gold Medal game. Sydney Taylor led Louisville in scoring with 15 points, while on her way to earning MVP honors.

The Cards went 3-1 in the round robin tournament and avenged the earlier loss to Canada. Taylor led the team in scoring throughout the tournament with 13.3ppg.

Olivia Cochran (10.8ppg, 5.5rpg)

Kiki Jefferson (12.8ppg, 4.8rpg, 5.5apg)

Nyla Harris (8.8ppg, 6.5rpg)

Sydney Taylor is a part of the U23 National Team and should be in Florida right now training before heading to Chile.

July 18th:

Anaya Hardy becomes the first commitment in the 2024 class for Coach Walz and his staff. The 6’4 forward is from Detroit Renaissance High School in Michigan. Hardy chose Louisville over a host of other schools including Syracuse and Michigan.

Myisha Hines-Allen (6.5ppg, 4rpg, 2.5apg) 2 games

Dana Evans (8ppg, 4rpg, 2apg) 1 game

Asia Durr (6.5ppg, 1rpg, 0.5apg) 2 games
