According to Drew Deener, who does TV play-by-play for the Cards, Stephan Van Treese will be staying at UofL and not transferring. If this is true, it will give the Cards even more depth in the front court, as Van Treese can play both the Power Forward and Center positions.

Stephan Van Treese, a 6’8 Junior from Indianapolis, IN, was granted his release today and will leave the UofL program. In 52 career games with the Cards, he averaged 2.1 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Although those are not big numbers, no one ever questioned his effort when he was on the floor.
Before Coach Dan McDonnell took over as head coach of the Cards, UofL Baseball had made the NCAA Tournament only 1 time in its history. Since McDonnell arrived, the Cards have now made the tournament 5 times in 6 seasons, and he has a record of 256-126 in those 6 seasons.
Marquis Haynes DE/TE Marquis Haynes took some time to talk with Cardinal Sports Zone recently. Haynes is a 2013 UofL football recruit from Florida that will be announcing his college choice very soon.
Keith Towbridge Cardinal Sports Zone was the first to get an interview with UofL’s newest 2013 football commit, Keith Towbridge. Just minutes after he committed, he talked with us at CSZ. Towbridge is a Tight End from Ohio and is excited about playing for the Cards.
Our latest Cardinal Rewind is with former star Quarterback, Brian Brohm. Brohm is a hometown kid that went to Trinity High School before attending UofL from 2004-2007 to carry on the tradition of the Brohm family at UofL.
The annual UofL Spring Football game will be held this Saturday at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. Come out and see the 2012 Louisville Cardinals as they wrap up the spring season.
