A Louisville native, Duvall spent time at WKU and Chipola College before returning home to U of L. The outfielder played at U of L for two seasons, and was drafted in the 11th round by the San Francisco Giants.

After working his way up the ranks in the minor leagues, including leading all Class A batters with 30 home runs in 2012, the Butler High alumni earned his Major League debut in 2014, hitting a home run against the Reds. Duvall would later finish that season on the Giants postseason roster, earning a World Series title.

The following season, Duvall would be traded to the Reds in a deal for Mike Leake, the same pitcher whom Duvall earned his first career home run against. Still with the Reds, Duvall remains the flagship U of L alumni in the pros, becoming the first Cardinal player to earn a spot in the MLB All-Star Game last season.

MLB Career (as of 5/25/2017): 2016 All-Star, .240 BA, 51 HR, 154 RBI

One of the recent additions to the 27-time world champs, Chad Green was a pivotal part of Louisville’s return to the College World Series in 2013. The Greenville, SC native left U of L as the school’s career leader in ERA, and was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 2013 draft. After being traded to the Yankees in 2015, Green made his MLB debut in May 2016, pitching against the D-Backs. Green would later bounce around in the minors, before returning to the Bronx in May 2017 against the Reds.

Another U of L pitcher currently in the majors, Zych is one of the relievers in the Seattle Mariners rotation. The Illinois native was drafted not once, but twice by the Cubs, with the team drafting him in the fourth round of the 2011 draft. However, the Cubs opted to trade Zych to the Mariners in 2015, with the right-hander making his debut in September of that season.

After rehabbing an injury from last season, Zych spent the 2017 season in AAA Tacoma, before being re-elevated to the Mariners organization in May. Zych earned his first career save on May 15 in a win over the Oakland Athletics.

MLB Career (as of 5/25/2017): 3-1 MLB record, 2.86 ERA, 1 SV
