Rick Pitino: Getting Creative (Plus Video Updates)




When the 2nd set of self-imposed sanctions the thing that people worried about after they collected their thoughts was: How will we recruit? I say after because when they were announced, people acted like they were unaware that these sanctions were coming down. We all assumed that reduction of scholarships, recruiting restrictions and a suspension for Coach P were on their way. (Side Note: When they announce Coach P’s suspension, do not repeat hysteria) Anyways, let me digress for a moment. We all wondered what the staff would do to make up for the things handed down. We speculated on them taking advantage of AAU tournaments in Louisville this summer as they would not have to travel at all which would aid them greatly restriction wise. Another thing that has seemingly aided them is the unexpected notion from their recruits of what Louisville is going through and the knowledge that it won’t affect them when they arrive on campus.

AAU Nationals are almost upon us! July 22-26th


The AAU Nationals will be coming to Louisville July 22-26th this year. The event will be held in the Kentucky Expo Center and will feature many of Louisville’s top targets. CSZ has learned 5 Star SG Antonio Blakeney will be one of those targets. This will be a great annual event for the city and for Louisville Basketball recruiting.

“The City of Louisville along with the Kentucky Exposition Center are proud to host the AAU Division I 10th & 11th Grade National Championships, the AAU 10th Grade Super Showcase – Gold Division, the AAU 11th Grade Super Showcase –Gold Division and the AAU 12th Grade National Championship. Games will be played July 23rd – 28th at the Kentucky Exposition Center.”

AAU Nationals to be held in Louisville


Last night Evan Daniels of broke the news that the AAU Basketball Nationals will be held in Louisville Ky starting this summer. For the last 10 years this event has been held in Orlando Florida at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex. This is huge news for the city of Louisville and the surrounding areas for a number of reasons.

1. This will bring over 3 Million Dollars to the city each year.

2. Schools like Bellarmine, EKU, and others will be able to recruit much easier and more cost efficient.

3. For Louisville and uk this will event brings in the Elite basketball players in the nation for an entire week.
