Alhaji Mohammed: Respect (All-Star Highlights Video)

1AMAS

As you guys know, Alhaji Mohammed is a friend of mine. We go way back. I am going to put that aside for a few moments. I follow what University of Louisville athletes do after they leave as much as anyone I know. Whether it’s in the business world like Chris Current & Luke Hancock or it’s on the courts like Russ, Preston and Peyton. There is one guy in my mind that is heads and shoulders above everyone else. If you paid any attention to the title of the story or the first sentence, you know who I am talking about.

Cardinal Catch-Up: Alhaji Mohammed

One thing that I love in the local sports scene right now is how myself and Marques Maybin are keeping in touch with former Cards. Marques has his throwback Thursday on the Deener show on ESPN 93.9 FM & I talk with the guys from all sports on LiveWith55 on Wednesday nights at blogtalkradio.com/csz. Today is a very welcome slow news day for CardNation.

I was talking this morning to Alhaji Mohammed. It’s no secret if you follow Mo is that he is a very charitable individual. He has always been humble and kind and willing to give back to the community. Of course I must preface this with the fact he is my friend. However he is one of the best people I have ever met. I met him back in 2004 when I went to a summer league game in the barber shop league down at St Stevens. He didn’t know me but we sat there and talked hoops while I watching my young bull Terrance Farley play in the league.

Summer Thoughts

So this has been one interesting summer. I have been swamped with work (a good thing) and we are now in the ACC! I am so excited about that part. The purgatory known as the AAC is over and now it is on to the next chapter of our greatness….the A-C-C

Louisville ACC

It’s so pretty….

Well let’s go over some things that have happened this summer. Teddy signed with the Vikings, Pryor with the Jets, Smith with the Eagles, Philon with the Steelers, Copeland with the Jags and Perry with the Bears. A pretty eventful summer for the former football Cards. We are all so very proud.

The Baseball team also had a crazy amount of signees to MLB teams. We definitely lost a ton of talent

Congrats to those guys as well…..

Alhaji Mohammed: Champion Again

alhajimo

cham·pi·on
ˈCHampēən/
noun
noun: champion; plural noun: champions
1.
a person who has defeated or surpassed all rivals in a competition, especially in sports.
synonyms: winner, titleholder, defending champion

Alhaji Mohammed is all of the above once again. Last night he led his team to his second consecutive Romanian league championship. He led the way with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the back to back to champions from Ploiesti. Alhaji, a proud University of Louisville Cardinal, was a part of the past two. Most people don’t know that Alhaji is around the city for most of the summer and does a lot for the community. In my opinion, he has also been key with the development of Preston Knowles, Peyton Siva and Russ Smith as he works out with them all summer and they respect and look up to him. They have a strong bond between them, he refers to them as his Thundercats. This is the tenth year overseas for Alhaji and he hopes the titles aren’t done yet.

We at CSZ also want to congratulate Alhaji on another winning season and hope for many more as well.

Here’s the video that everyone loves featuring Alhaji:
