Donovan Mitchell may have enjoyed a few days in the Bahamas after his rookie season ended, but besides that, he has not slowed down at all. According to John Rothstein Louisville will host Michigan State in this year’s 2018 ACC/Big Ten Challenge!
This has now become officially official as both the UofL Men’s Basketball Twitter Account and ACC Men’s Basketball Twitter Account are both confirming UofL is indeed hosting Michigan State this season for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
The game is scheduled for Tuesday 11/27 and has the potential to be a Top 25 matchup. A tip-off time and TV network have yet to be determined for the game according to UofL.
The people who know the game the best, have spoken. Donovan Mitchell was named “Leader of The New School” (aka Rookie of the Year) by his peers in this year’s Player’s Voice Awards. Now we just wait to see the media follows suit.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Forward Lance Thomas, who averaged 2.2 points and 1.3 rebounds in 12 games as a freshman at the University of Louisville last season, has been provided his release to transfer to another institution.
Robbie Valentine was on air with Marques Maybin and Steve Rummage for the Tuesday May 15th edition of Middays with Marques Maybin. They discussed everything from Robbie’s upcoming 33rd (!) annual basketball camps to the type of recruits coach Mack has been bringing in. Kahil Fennell is coming to the University of Louisville after spending one year as an assistant coach at Portland State. He played three years at Redlands University where he graduated with a degree in history and earned all-academic honors.

It’s been a heated Rookie of the Year battle between Ben Simmons and Donovan Mitchell.
Simmons and Mitchell are the two clear front runners for the award. Some say both should get the award.
But, Draymond Green thinks Donovan Mitchell is the true ROY.
Donovan thanked Draymond by ending his career.

Deng Adel announced today that he has hired an agent and will remain in the NBA draft. He has endured some of the highest of highs and lowest of lows during his time at UofL, but he did it all with a smile on his face. Anas Mahmoud recently sat down with KingFut, a website that covers Egyptian athletes from all over the world. Malek Shafel and Anas talked about everything from when he started playing basketball, how the recruiting process went and what is next for him. Anas did say that he plans on giving his best effort to the draft process this summer and he has signed with Leon Rose from CAA as his agent. His main goal still remains to graduate in May. Donovan Mitchell continues to have break out game, after break out game. He has made his mark on the NBA and won over the hearts of Jazz fans in just a few short months. Last night marked another milestone in his early career, Donovan Mitchell has posted 20+ points in each of his last 10 games, marking the longest 20-point streak by a rookie in Jazz history. Keep it up Spida!
Go ahead and mark your calendars, UofL basketball camp is back! Chris Mack announced yesterday that grades 3-8 would be June 25-28 and grades 1-6 will be July 23-26th. When more details are released by Coach Mack and the university, CSZ will pass them along to you!
