They have played through the Katina Powell scandal and now the FBI one. They never let it bring them down though, they have been the solid foundation that the freshman and sophomores have needed. It was announced today that Deng Adel has been named to the preseason top 50 candidate list for the Wooden Award. The Wooden award is the most prestigious individual honor in college basketball. Congrats to Adel!

He popped the question over the weekend to his long time girlfriend, and Steph Curry’s sister, Sydel Curry.  Damion is currently playing in the G-League for the Warriors. AP Mens Basketball Poll Week 2

The first AP Poll of the regular season has been released. Duke remains at the top with Michigan State coming in at number two. UofL slides two and lands at number 18.

The New Era Of Cardinal Basketball Begins

Pat Forde with Yahoo Sports noticed how quiet the Yum! Center seemed on Sunday. Between a smaller crowd than usual, a smaller student section, and a much quieter coach, the entire day felt different. Different doesn’t always mean bad, but only time will tell on how it plays out.

Asia Durr’s 47 Points Lifts #9 Louisville Over #5 Ohio State

Asia Durr’s career high 47 points led the No. 9 Louisville Cardinals to a HUGE 95-90 victory over the No. 5 Ohio State Buckeyes in the Countdown to Columbus.

There were a number of WNBA scouts at today’s Countdown to Columbus matchup wanting to catch a glimpse of the high level talent on the court. The scouts did not leave disappointed.

In a fast paced matchup, the No. 9 Louisville Cardinals battled the No. 5 Ohio State Buckeyes in Nationwide Arena, the home of the 2018 Women’s Final Four.

Pitino Releases Statement Following Latest FBI Accusations

Rick Pitino released a statement through his lawyer today following yesterday’s accusations. Coach Pitino condemns the latest allegations to be false and defamatory in nature. He maintains his innocence and will continue to fully cooperate with the government’s ongoing investigation.

Student Section Promos Announced For Men’s Basketball Season

Finding The Sunshine In The Darkest Days Of UofL Men’s Basketball

On September 26, 2017,  the day started off just like any other day. Most of us went to work, student athletes and students attended classes, naps were taken, never would anyone have guessed the landscape of college basketball would be potentially changed forever that day.

Jeff Greer with the Courier Journal sat down with some of the current players on the UofL men’s basketball team and asked them how they all found out about the FBI investigation. Anas was leaving a finance class, Quentin was taking a nap, VJ and Ryan were in a biology lab, everyone was going about their normal, every day business when a tsunami hit.

While everyone had the same initial reaction of shock and disbelief, it is the way Q, Anas and Adel stepped up to make sure the team did not fall apart. Their true leadership skills shined like never before in some of the toughest days of being a cardinal.

Cardinal Basketball Reunion

The last month has been rough regarding Cardinal basketball. Throughout it all, it seems David Padgett has given us a positive attitude and reminded us all the sun will continue to come up and shine. Tonight, he did that once again. Coach Padgett invited all former players and coaches back to practice tonight, and it was a picture perfect moment.

UofL Men’s Basketball Non-Conference Single Game Tickets Go On Sale 10/18/2017

Single tickets for the 2017-2018 non-conference UofL Men’s basketball season will go on sale tomorrow, October 18th, at 10 AM. They will vary between $35 and $40 and this excludes the Indiana game, which will be $85.
