Nunnsense: Donovan Will Not Replace Pitino When He Retires

Rick Pitino

Billy Donovan will not replace Rick Pitino when he retires from coaching basketball at The University of Louisville. Donovan will likely never coach in the college ranks again. Donovan, in his first year as the Oklahoma City Thunder head coach, has taken his team to within 1 game of the NBA finals. If the Thunder can win 1 of the next 3 games against the Warriors, then he will have reached a level of success that will more than likely assure him to always be an NBA coach. Nunnsense: Pitino To Retire? Donovan To Replace Him In 2017?

This scandal has taken a toll on all of us, especially Rick Pitino. He has been through so much more than the average NCAA Division 1 basketball coach. I believe it’s starting to show. I worry about his health. After he came out an said he would be back next year, most of us started wondering how much longer he would stick around and who would replace him when he left. I have heard from a very reliable source that this whole situation is

3 UofL basketball targets make USA Men’s U18 National Team (1 surprising cut)

Coach Billy Donovan (Florida) made his final cut down to 12 for the final USA Men’s U18 National Team and a few Louisville Targets made the list. 2015 PG Isaiah Briscoe,2015 SG Allonzo Trier, and 2015 Center Stephen Zimmerman all made the final roster and all are in the mix with the Cards. While Trier and Briscoe have not set up visits to Louisville at this time, Zimmerman will be on campus September 26th.

The most surprising news may not be who made it. but who didn’t. 2015 SG Antonio Blakeney did not make the final team. It has been believed for a long time that Louisville and Billy Donovan’s Florida Gators have been the leaders for Blakeney. Will Donovan cutting Blakeney have any effect? That I don’t know but I can’t imagine this could be anything but good for the Cards.

Montrezl Harrell

Sophomore Montrezl Harrell has accepted an invitation to attend the 2013 USA Basketball Men’s U19 World Championship team training camp. The camp will be held June 14-19 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.

The team will be coached by Florida’s Billy Donovan, and he will have Tony Bennett (Virginia) and Shaka Smart (VCU) as assistants. Not a bad staff! There are 24 players who are invited to the camp, and the team will be cut down to 12.
