Louisville went on the road Wednesday night and got the 91-83 win over Virginia Tech. Here is what Coach Pitino had to say after the game.
(Virginia Tech Buzz Williams) would make a great pro coach. I’m not trying to get rid of him. But he’d make a great pro coach because he puts you in pick-and-roll isolations that hurt Virginia, that hurt us. They hurt everybody with it. That’s the professional game. To use 15, 16 seconds of the clock puts you in situations that are very difficult to guard. So he does a lot of great things with the pick-and-roll. We had to win this game on offense tonight.
The Louisville Cardinals (16-3, 5-1) hit the road on Wednesday night and take on the Virginia Tech Hokies (12-8, 4-3), coached by Buzz Williams, pictured above doing an incredible Buzz Kick. Any road win in the ACC is big, and this one is no different. Virginia Tech is much improved, and it will take an exceptional effort for the Cards to leave Blacksburg with the W. Let’s look over some pregame notes.
Spread: Louisville opened as 9.5 point favorites.
When the schedule for this basketball season was released, one of the first things that most people looked for was probably when the Cards would play North Carolina and Duke. If so, they would see that at this time in January, they would face those teams on back to back Saturdays, which is pretty awesome. What they may have overlooked was that little game in between, which is tonight’s matchup against Virginia Tech. In what would usually be a classic trap game, I don’t think that will be the case tonight.

As if Buzz Williams needs more help drawing attention to himself, he still feels the need to do things like this. Gotta say though, Buzz is a better dancer than I am.
