With a Saturday night game on tap for the Cardinals, there is plenty of opportunity for fans to watch around the college football world and hope for some falling down in front of them.

This is the first installment of The Stemmys. Every Wednesday I will put out my list of weekly awards given to those that have earned them. The amount and names of awards may differ each week but they are sure to be entertaining!
Mr. Truthful Award: Josh Shaw (USC CB)
Shaw is an on the field leader for the Trojans but his actions this week went even further. Shaw sprained both ankles while jumping in a pool to save his drowning nephew…..Wait what is that..
….Well this is awkward.
The “You have got to be kidding me?!” Award: The Miami Hurricanes
The Cards open up with the Miami Hurricanes this week and both teams are ready to play! The Cards look to start off in the ACC the right way and the Canes want revenge because they feel……………Disrespected? Miami claims that the Cards talked to much trash and tried to “run the score up”. Cry me a flipping river!!
So lets get this straight THE U, the team that has a 30 for 30 about how much they run their mouth is upset about big bad Louisville talking too much? This should tell you all you need to know haha. Looking forward to that blowout Monday.
As you guys may know, I do a feature during the Basketball Tournament called Meet the Opponents. The idea popped into my head today to do one for our opponents and visitors to Patterson Stadium this weekend, The Kennesaw State Owls. Many reasons came to mind. A lot of us don’t know much about them. They are not a huge name. Most importantly, this is my story and I will write about whatever I want. Ok, the last reason had zero affect on why, but it’s my story and I can just make up a reason if I want. On a serious note, I hope you enjoy the tidbits and facts also known as Meet The Opponents.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Widely regarded as one of the best defensive coordinators in the country, Todd Grantham was tabbed by University of Louisville head football coach Bobby Petrino to become the school’s defensive coordinator and safeties coach on Thursday.
Todd comes to Louisville after four seasons as Georgia’s defensive coordinator, including two seasons as the associate head coach. During his time with Georgia, the Bulldogs advanced to four-consecutive bowl games and compiled a 36-18-1 record with Grantham at the helm of the defense.
“To get a coach like Todd Grantham on our staff says a lot about our program,” Petrino said. “I’ve had the opportunity to compete against Todd’s defenses over the years and have been very impressed with his scheme and how hard his players compete. Todd will be a great addition to lead our defense.”
