LOUISVILLE, Ky. – One of the greatest players in University of Louisville and Atlantic Coast Conference history, junior quarterback Lamar Jackson has decided to forgo his final year of collegiate eligibility and declare for the 2018 NFL Draft.

In just three seasons, Jackson put his imprint on the Louisville program, becoming the school’s first Heisman Trophy winner, attaining numerous player of the year awards, and rewriting the school and conference record books.

Congratulations are in order for Lamar Jackson! He was named today to the Maxwell Award semifinalist list. This is an award he won last year and honors America’s college player of the year.

ESPNU said exactly what every UofL fan has been screaming since the preseason. QUIT SLEEPING ON LAMAR JACKSON TO WIN BACK-TO-BACK HEISMAN TROPHIES. Here is the comparison of stats from the past 2 seasons.

Lamar has virtually identical stats this year as he did last year. Notable differences include fact he has thrown for 161 more yards and rushed for 306 yards less. It’s a sign he’s grown as a player and as a pocket passer.

Clemson Game Moved To PrimeTime

PRESS RELEASE

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Saturday’s football game between a pair of top-15 teams Louisville and Clemson is being moved to primetime, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Sunday.

 

The contest, originally scheduled for 3:30 p.m., will be played at 8:12 p.m. and televised nationally on ABC with Kirk Herbstreit, Chris Fowler, and Maria Taylor.

 

Louisville is ranked No. 14 in the latest Associated Press poll and faces a top-five opponent for the second-straight season at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. In 2016, the Cardinals defeated No. 2 Florida State 63-20.

 

Clemson, the 2016 national champion, is ranked No. 3 after a 14-6 win over Auburn on Saturday.

 

ESPN’s College GameDay is broadcasting from the oval in front Grawemeyer Hall, on the UofL campus. Additional details will be announced later in the week.
