We at CardinalSportsZone.com wish these two young men & the one drafted today the very best if luck in their journeys. Here is a press release from the University of Louisville athletic department:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville cornerback Jaire Alexander and quarterback Lamar Jackson were selected in the first round of the 2018 National Football League Draft Thursday evening AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The two first-round selections for the Cardinals are the second most in school history, one shy of equaling the 2014 draft, when three players went on the first day.
Louisville fans know that Jaire Alexander is the best cornerback in this years NFL draft. He knows that as well. He recently sat down and talked to the NFL Network about what his outfit for the draft will look like and what it will feel like to hear his name called.
After pushing through a leg and hand injury during his last season as a UofL Cardinal, Jaire Alexander is ready to let everyone know he is healthy. Jaire sat down with Peter King with Sport Illustrated to talk about what what Jaire says is the difference between being confident and what is arrogant.
Jaire Alexander had an outstanding career at the University of Louisville. Even with an injury riddled junior year, he made sure to let his presence be known when he was on the field. He was one of the most dynamic playmakers ever in the defensive backfield at UofL. We here at Cardinal Sports Zone cannot wait to watch him play on Sundays this fall!
