Things didn’t go as planned against WKU but the end result was a victory. The Cards trailed 14-0 before they even completed a pass and were outgained 428 yards to 292. They needed a blocked punt, a goal line stand and a WKU 51 yard field goal to come up short, just to sneak out with a 3 point win despite being a heavy favorite. This second round NIT game at the KFC Yum! Center was probably one of the best atmosphere’s I have ever been a part of. I am so proud of my fellow Card fans. It could have been so easy to just brush this season off because it didn’t turn out the way we expected. The team could have just quit and turned their attention to next year – but they didn’t. And I believe it’s because they saw that the fans didn’t give up on them. Once the truest of true fans finally got the opportunity to show their support, the team took notice and it elevated their play. The smile on Ryan McMahon’s face as he stood near the free throw line and watched the crowd flawlessly perform the wave, was absolutely the best thing I saw all day.

He needed to make a great first impression – and he did. Most of us were sold right there on the spot.
But are you buying that he is the future? I believe that he could definitely be what the University needs to re-establish the athletic brand back to where it should be and where the fans expect it to be. Read the rest of this entry
