Last night marked another milestone in his early career, Donovan Mitchell has posted 20+ points in each of his last 10 games, marking the longest 20-point streak by a rookie in Jazz history. The Utah Jazz announced today that Jazz alumnus Darrell Griffith will make an appearance on Friday, Feb. 23 as the team takes on the Portland Trail Blazers in its first game back from the All-Star Break. Griffith, the first ever Jazz NBA Slam Dunk Contest representative in 1984 and 1985, will also participate in a pre-game recognition honoring Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell for winning the 2018 NBA Slam Dunk Contest at NBA All-Star Weekend. As a tribute to the former Jazz man known as Dr. Dunkenstein, Mitchell wore Griffith’s No. 35 uniform for one of his dunks as he jumped over his sister, comedian Kevin Hart and Hart’s son.

When the creators of NBA 2K put Donovan Mitchell’s dunk rating at a 50/100, we all knew he was being grossly overlooked. After dominating at the All-Star Dunk Contest this weekend, Donovan started a petition to get his score raised, and it worked!

It did not take long for him to win over Utah fans and he continued to win over the rest of the NBA fan base this weekend. Donovan talked to the media about why it was so important for him to include his sister, Jordan, in one of his dunks during the NBA All-Star Dunk Contest.
