According to Scout.com, former leading Tennessee Volunteers rusher Jalen Hurd will be paying a visit to the University of Louisville this weekend.
Hurd has also paid visits to Ohio State and California. He was on pace to become Tennessee’s all time leading rusher, until a falling out with his coach Butch Davis spurned his decision to transfer schools. He is also looking to switch positions at wherever school he chooses.
We are officially halfway through the season, and Louisville has surpassed all expectations and become a legitimate College Football Playoff contender. I said I would not make a post for every single update, and I haven’t. But when there is significant progress or news, it will get posted. As we at CSZ already knew, but were not sure it would be made public, Charlie Strong did have an offer from Tennessee that he turned down.
Now it is being reported that UofL is working on a contract extension for Coach Strong. This was first reported on twitter from Adam Himmelsbach (@AdamHimmelsbach) of the Courier-Journal. ESPN’s Brett McMurphy (@McMurphyESPN) later confirmed the news.
Assuming all of this is true, and of course I do assume that as this point, I’d expect we will soon hear of a significant raise and extension for Coach Strong. To turn town Tennessee and stay at UofL would speak volumes, and he could see a major payday coming.
There has not been a press conference, or nothing confirmed 100%, but it looks pretty close!
