Nunnsense: The Legacy Of James Quick

The legacy of James Quick is one that can be interpreted in many different ways. It all depends if compare his college career to the expectations most people had for him or if you compare his actual statistics and contributions during his time at Louisville to every other receiver that came before him.

It all began at Trinity High School when James became the first-ever freshman to start a game for the storied football powerhouse.  He also won the state championship in the 200 meter dash in both his freshman and sophomore years. James became the first player in Kentucky high school football history to score a touchdown in four straight state championship games (’09 -’12) and had received offers to play at almost every major college school. Louisville Football Commit to play on ESPNU

Future Cardinal Reggie Bonnafon and the Trinity Shamrocks will open their season on ESPNU according to Jason Frakes of the Courier Journal. The Shamrocks will play Ensworth (TN) on August 23rd with kickoff scheduled for 8PM. Ensworth is the 3 time defending 2A State Champions in the state of Tennessee and we all know the success Trinity has had in the state of Kentucky in recent years. This will be a good chance for Cards fans to see Bonnafon in action as he takes over as the full time starter for the Rocks. Make sure to follow Frakes @KyHighs for more info.

Jason Hatcher’s recruitment now “wide open”

Trinity High School star defensive end Jason Hatcher, who committed to USC on July 27, made big news on twitter last night. We at CSZ have been expecting it to happen for quite a while, but last night he made it official and he de-committed from USC. His tweet said “I official de-committed from USC #WideOpen”.

Ryan White talks to CSZ

The train keeps rollin’ for Charlie Strong and the UofL football staff. Monday morning began with news of another committment for the class of 2013. Ryan White, a Cornerback from Trinity High School in Louisville, became the 3rd member of the class of 2013 to commit to the Cards. He joins Kyle Bolin and Donel Elam.

CSZ was actually the first to contact White after he made his committment (that was confirmed by White). Since we were already posting the interview with Donel Elam in the morning, we held this one until today. We knew he would be bombarded with questions all day long, so we kept it short and sweet.
